In her own words

I couldn't walk my children to school without leaking
In her words

After having my second child, I really suffered with pelvic floor dysfunction. It got to the point where I couldn't even do normal daily activities, like walking my children to school, without experiencing symptoms.

I knew something wasn't right, so I decided to do something about it.

What I found different about the West 6 Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Programme was that it didn't just focus on my pelvic floor. It helped me understand that the muscles around the pelvis also play an important role in supporting it, and the programme gradually built my overall strength alongside my pelvic floor.

I won't pretend the journey has been easy. At times I've found it frustrating, but the structured progression meant I could continue building strength without feeling like I'd reached a dead end. Understanding why I was doing each exercise, and how each level built on the previous one, really helped me stay motivated.

In her words

My journey isn't over yet, but I am so much stronger than when I started.

Today, I no longer have symptoms during normal daily activities. I feel less self-conscious, I think about my pelvic floor much less, and I no longer have to take spare clothes with me "just in case."

If there's one piece of advice I'd give to other women, it's this:

Pelvic floor dysfunction shouldn't be accepted as a normal part of getting older or having children. Get help sooner rather than later.

Your goal doesn't have to be a Commonwealth medal.

Whether your goal is running after your children, returning to the gym, playing netball again or competing internationally, rehabilitation follows the same principles.

Every woman deserves to feel strong, confident and in control of her body again.
